Opportunities to Serve in Hamilton Conference

Dear Friends,

The purpose of The Hamilton Conference of the United Church of Canada is to be responsible for providing leadership and resources in order that the life and work of Jesus Christ may be known in the Church and in the world. To live out our purpose, we need volunteers to serve on committees, networks and task groups.

We have a number of vacancies to fill for the current Conference year. We invite you to prayerfully consider whether you or someone you know might be called to serve in one of these positions. Mandates for the Committees are posted on the Conference Website www.hamconf.org . We would ask you to express your interest in serving or nomination of another person by contacting the Nominations Committee.  In your expression of interest, please include:

• your name and contact information (including email address if you have one)
  
• the name of your local United Church congregation or ministry and whether you are a member or adherent (Please note: To be a Committee Chairperson or Vice Chairperson, you must be a member of The United Church or Canada.)
  
• tell us briefly what is drawing you to serve in this position
  
• describe skills and experience you would bring to the position referring to the Committee Mandate
  
• give us a brief summary of your involvement in the local congregation, presbytery, conference or General Council
  

If you know of someone who you would like to nominate, ask them to send in an expression of interest or send me their contact information and I will invite them to express their interest. If an individual finds it difficult to write an expression of interest, we would be happy to have a conversation and record their information.
